Are You Connected?

Here in Los Angeles, the belief is that you must be connected in order to be successful. In other words, it's all about who you know. This leads to a lot of people bragging about who they attended the reception with, or who they saw at the mixer. Unfortunately, that causes people to build very superficial relationships (if they can be called relationships at all).
Many Christians have developed this type of relationship with Christ. We only talk about Him when it can gain us favor in the eyes of the person with which we are conversing. In essence, we resort to name-dropping Jesus when it is convenient or beneficial. Many of us have grown so accustomed to this practice that we don't even realize when we are doing it.
This has got to stop!
Men and women of God, let's stop pretending that we know God when we really only know of Him. Just because we met Him one day at a church service or His name was mentioned over a meal does not mean that we are in a relationship with Him. You must get connected! Scripture tells us that unless we abide in Him, He cannot abide in us. Simply stated, we must live in Christ for Him to live in us. It's a lifestyle.
Our entire being should revolve around the relationship we have with our Lord and Savior. If it doesn't, then we are not truly connected. Take time to really get to know Christ and allow Him to truly guide your life. Once you begin to build a healthy and intimate bond with Him, your life is guaranteed to be a success.
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
~John 15:5 (NIV)
